Also a native breed of Karnataka, Hallikar cow breed is named after the Kannadiga community called Hallikar who raise them. Hallikar breed is known for their strength. Identified with they signature long, vertical and backward bending horns, Hallikar is the only known breed where cows and bulls are used in farming extensively.
Our ghee from the milk of this breed comes from the city of Mysore, where the Haliikar breed once enjoyed the royal patronage and care from the erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore State. We get our ghee from a known Ashram in the city of Mysore. The cows are grass-fed as they are taken to local hills everyday for grazing and shelter at the Ashram's Gaushala.
The ghee is made using Bilona method on wood fire at the Ashram.
